Video shows start of 2010 Tour Divide mountain bike race

Tour Divide start

The Tour Divide, a 2,745 mile North American mountain bike race, started in Banff, Canada, last Friday. As of this morning, the winner of the two previous tours, Mathew Lee, was in the lead near Seeley Lake, in Montana.

The video below, posted on YouTube by the creators of Ride the Divide, a documentary about last year’s race, shows this year’s 48 racers starting out from Banff on Friday. You can follow the riders’ progress on the tour’s online GPS-based leaderboard.

    Just found out that the guy who rides by at the :26 mark is on a single speed. His name’s Jon Billman. That’s a long, long ride on a single speed.
