Renan Ozturk, the climber-artist-filmmaker we profiled last spring, is producing a series of videos from a climbing trip to Cuba. Typical of Renan’s work, the result is eye-popping footage of a locale off the beaten path.
So far, he’s posted three videos, one about getting there, a montage of life in Havana and an introduction to Viñales, a valley in the Sierra de los Organos surrounded by karst cliffs that’s emerged as a popular climbing destination in recent years. Even if you don’t climb, it’s worth a look.

I’m fascinated by Cuba and would hope to visit someday. This is the first time I’ve heard anything about the climbing there. Cool!
